The Practice of Mark-Making:Gestures, Repetition & Attention is a drawing centered workshop and class focusing on gestures, lines, loops, and repeated marks as a way to slow down and reconnect to your practice. This workshop includes a mark-making kit to take home to continue your practice at home

This is not a technical drawing class; it’s an expressive one. We will take a look into the practice and work of artists such as Cy Twombly, Agnes Martin, Joan Miró and Joan Mitchell. They will be our guides to better understand how marks become language.

Materials Kit contains : a sketchbook, professional Sketching set (12b - 4h), black oil pencil, easer + blender

About Your Instructor: Diana Vidal, founder + director of SSP

Diana Vidal is a teaching artist and the founder + director of Super Secret Projects. Her classes are hands-on and process-driven, centering experimentation, material exploration, and practical skill-building. She creates learning environments that support curiosity, repetition, and growth across a range of creative approaches.

With over a decade of experience working in studios, galleries, and community-based art spaces, Diana brings a practice-led approach to teaching. Her classes are shaped by real-world experience and focus on clarity, process, and offering artists tools they can return to long after the workshop ends.
