Discover the art of monotypes, a printmaking technique that produces one-of-a-kind images through ink transfer. Unlike traditional printmaking, monotypes create unique, painterly impressions rather than repeatable editions. In this workshop, we'll explore ghost prints—the second, more delicate impression left behind after the initial image is transferred—revealing subtle textures, echoes of past marks, and layers of transformation.
Elizabeth Mihaltse Lindy will guide participants through the process, demonstrating how to use found objects, shapes, textures, and expressive mark-making to create abstract positive and negative images. Using acrylic paint on various plate surfaces, you'll experiment with different effects and techniques before pressing your own prints.
This workshop is designed for artists and beginners alike—no prior experience is needed, just a sense of curiosity and a willingness to explore. Materials are included. Space is limited—reserve your spot!
