Visual Memoirs: Portraits, Self-Portraits, and Selfies
Open Call! Super Secret Projects invites artists to explore the art of portraiture in "Visual Memoirs: Portraits, Self-Portraits, and Selfies." All mediums are welcomed as you showcase your skill in creating portraits of others. Join us in celebrating the diverse tapestry of human experiences by submitting your work before December 19th. Your artistic interpretation will contribute to a rich narrative that explores the nuances of portraiture.
The exhibition will be curated by Diana Vidal, co-director of Super Secret Projects and Darya Golubina, a founding member of our collective. Learn more about your curators below!
Chosen works will be on display at the Super Secret Project speakeasy styled gallery, located at 484 Main St, Beacon NY, behind the Hyperbole shop.

Artists must be 18+ or older to participate in this Open Call
The following mediums are encouraged to apply:
Works will be accepted on a piece-by-piece basis, meaning if you apply with more than one piece, we may accept some of your work and not others due to space limitations.
At this time, we are not accepting audio or video submissions for this open call.

FEE: $15 for 1 submission > $5 for each additional submission. 3 submissions max.
1 work = $15, 2 works = $20, 3 works = $25
To apply, you must fill in the application below and pay the submission fee.
If artist is picked for this show and their work is sold, they will receive 95% of their work’s pricing.

MEET YOUR CURATORS
Diana Vidal & Darya Golubina

We're excited to announce that Diana Vidal will serve as a curator for this Open Call. Diana, is a Dominican, multimedia artist whose work delves into the realms of time, memory, and shared experiences.
Her work has been shown at Transmitter Gallery in Brooklyn, NY, the Beacon Artist Union, Site:Brooklyn. Her most recent exhibitions is a compelling group show at Distortion Society in Beacon, NY and her solo video based show at Super Secret Projects.
Beyond her artistic pursuits, Diana holds the position of Founder and Co-Director of Super Secret Projects. She is committed to fostering community engagement and promoting artistic ventures in both the local art scene and broader creative initiatives.

We are delighted to have Darya Golubina, a founding member of the collective, as a curator for this open call. . Darya was born in Kiev, Ukraine and raised in Brooklyn, NY; moving to Beacon in 2018. She graduated from the School of Visual Arts, and while her preferred medium is oil paint or graphite, she splits her time between her painting studio and the photography studio she heads in NYC.In 2021, Darya took on the significant responsibility of becoming the director of the Beacon Open Studios Organization. The following year, in 2022, she embarked on a new venture as one of the founding members of Super Secret Projects, effectively merging her passion for both community engagement and artistic endeavors.
